About the Role:
Mi Casa Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice Medical Director to join our dedicated team in San Antonio, TX. This is a meaningful opportunity to lead clinical excellence and provide expert guidance in end-of-life care, making a profound difference in the lives of patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical oversight and clinical leadership for the hospice program in accordance with federal and state regulations
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to develop and review individualized patient care plans
- Conduct and oversee patient eligibility certifications and recertifications for hospice services
- Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for attending physicians, nurses, and care team members
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid hospice conditions of participation
- Support staff education and training on palliative and end-of-life care best practices
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Active and unrestricted Texas medical license
- Board certification in hospice and palliative medicine preferred
- Prior experience in hospice, palliative care, or a related clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid hospice regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to end-of-life care
